I have a 6 page feature out in the May issue of Simple Things magazine, one of my favourite British publications. Helen and Gerry are both illustrations and live in a wonderfully creative, colourful home in Berwick. Their studio's are located in the house and there are hand drawn illustrations and paintings all over the house, by both Helen and Gerry and their esteemed friends too. A lovely family in a lovely, perfectly imperfect home.
My third feature for Asos is about how to make your workspace work for you. It included lots of tips and photo's of our own workspace too. link here.
I cover all of the elements of creating a brilliant workspace; from using a proper desk, and having a good lamp to drinking enough water and wearing comfy pants!
Styling the winter Sisterhood Supper was a treat from start to finish. Lou, the organiser, and I created ideas together, based on Lou’s request for a magical sensory winter space in which to craft, eat and talk. We wanted this to be simple in it’s detail yet immersive in it’s execution, giving guests the feeling of stepping into a magical winter land. We knew we’d be using lots of wintery greenery, acres of linen, and candles. The space, The Forge in Bristol, provided the perfect rustic industrial canvas with raw brick and wood and huge windows looking out over the city. Simply magical.
I finally finished our bedroom and styled it for my blog, www.seedsandstitches.com. Hop over there to see the rather gruesome before pic, and a breakdown of what we did.
Caroline yates is a gifted artist living in the pretty seaside town of Deal, in Kent, and we got to shoot her home for period Living. Her colour palettes are so calm and beautiful, and resonate everywhere, from her paintings to her furnishings. The greys and blues felt so calming, and the whole space was beautifully harmonious.
I always love shooting local homes and this was was just down the road! Abbie Walsh makes the most beautiful one-off fashion accessories and her studio was so lovely! full of all of her creations, and her vintage sewing machine. Quirky vintage details abounded. Shot by Kristy Noble, styling and words by me.
I got to style and write words for a stunning local home in Kent. It used to be a watermill and still has the original wheel attached, something the resident family hope to restore to working order. The views were unreal and the decor- a stylish mix of french and Scandinavian- was rather lovely too. Shot by Kristy Noble
I styled all elements of Lou Archel's Sisterhood Camp. This was a dream of an event over two days, and I was in charge of making it beautiful! From styling the workshop area to preparing a breathtaking cliff top picnic, and dressing the tables in a large tent for our evening meal, I was in my element with like minded Sisters and cannot wait to do it all again.
I styled and wrote the words for this 6 page real homes interiors feature for Real Homes. This was an amazing renovation job, and a family with a wonderful story too, it was great getting to know them a little! The kitchen was the hero space for me- so chic and light and calm. Shot by Kristy Noble
I had a 6 page real homes interiors feature in Period Living in March 2015. I loved all the rich tonal contrasts in this home; from the different tones of wood to the jewell toned velvet furnishings and use of mossy greys. Gorgeous. Shot by Kristy Noble
I co-organised two Club Milk events, a new family clubbing experience, with Jo Jell from Hope & Hops. I also made all the decorations and styled the event. Neon netting ahoy. Such. Good. Fun.
Crafting, prop prep and assisting for a Not On The High Street Christmas shoot. Styling Yvonne Achato, Photography Dan Duchars.
