Our Christmas branch! An alternative, eco-friendly, zero-cost Christmas tree idea
Last Christmas, we fore-went the traditional Christmas tree in favour of a Christmas Branch. If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you will know my love for a good branch in an interior. So a branch Christmas tree felt like a verrrryyy natural step!
This particular branch was rescued from our friends bonfire pile. I thought it had a lovely ‘spread’ and shape. We simply put it into a normal Christmas tree stand and tightened it up. We then covered it with a wicker tree basket.
Reasons I love our Christmas branch:
It has zero carbon footprint
It’s free
It doesn’t drop pine needles on the floor!
It’s easy and light to manoeuvre
It looks beautiful (to me, anyway!)
It’s easy to break down and use as firewood when we no longer need it.
To make sure I still have ‘that’ Christmas scent, I hang a big wreath with foraged evergreen pine and fir branches.
The kids have a charity shop fake tree in their bedroom which is covered in tinsel and baubles! We also hang their favoyrite small toys on the tree too (like Auden;’s cars)- it’s not always necessary to buy baubles.
I love both of our trees equally, for very different reasons.

I also made some Floral Posy Christmas baubles too, I love them! I created tiny little bundle, trimmed the talks very short, and secured them with a small length of velvet ribbon from The Natural Dye Works.
